One of the biggest challenges facing records professionals is that they often don't understand ICT fully. Even when they work with EDRMS systems or use scanning technology, they still dont know enough to adequately have discussion with ICT professionals.
This programme starts at the very beginning and explains basic ICT concepts, such as the components of a computer, databases, different types of systems, networking, the internet and search engines. Many records and registry staff have never been taught what the desktop is, how to use file explorer and browsers. If you aren't absolutely certain that you understand these concepts, then course is definitely for you. Even if you know the basics, you'll still learn new terms that will enable you to communicate better with your IT colleagues.
The people who will benefit most from this training would be:
• Records Managers
• Registry Officials
• Departmental/unit records coordinators
• Personal assistants
Because of the interactive nature of this course, attendance is restricted to 25 delegates so please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
